What a year we have had so far
in the youth department, and October was no different! God has
truly blessed us this year with a lot of new names and faces. It
seems as if the youth group has totally transformed from a few years ago
and it is great. God has allowed us to see students lives change
in a drastic way and I can't wait to see what the next two months have
in store.
During the month of October we had two big events.
The first one was our fall hay ride and bon fire at my and Brittany's
house. It was awesome, we had about 40 kids show up! It was
probably the best fall event we have ever had. We had chili,
roasted hotdogs, made smores, carved pumpkins, but my favorite thing was
watching everyone try to bob for apples, it was hilarious. Then we
ended the night with a huge hay ride, it truly was a great night!
On October 24th we had our first and only 5th Quarter
of the year. It was huge! We had about 45 kids there and
over half of them weren't from our church! So the kids really took
it seriously when I told them it was an out-reach event. They took
this great opportunity to invite their friends to church and allow them
to see some of the things we do as a youth group and a church. I
hope and pray that seeds were planted and relationships were built that
will eventually lead students to give their life to Christ.
As you can see, we had a great month and we were able
to see God work in some awesome ways!!
